    Description

1959 Type 2 Reverse Franklin Half Dollar NGC MS64 FBL *LOW POP* NGC FBL Population: 10, with 4 Finer. There are two reverse design varieties for the Franklin half dollar. The major differences in the two designs are with the eagle, generally classified as type I and type II. Type I, is a low relief design, while type II is high relief with three large distinct wings and all the feathers being well defined. The only two business strike years to get the Type II reverse were 1958 and 1959. The reverse die was used previously to coin proofs before being retired for that purpose. It is seen on a minority of 1958-P and 1959-P circulating half dollars and is sought after.
